Default judgment

A default judgement was taken against me in December 2009 for a debit ordered that was not paid because I stopped it at the bank. I cancelled the service in July and paid for August but they again collected in September and would not accept my cancellation because they said they did not receive it in July. This was an internet service provider. The summons was never served on me although the sheriff of the court said he did and I would have defended it had it been served. I did not make use of their service at all either in August or September. I am trying to have it removed. Can they claim if they suffered no damage (data not used by myself) and how do I report the sherriff who lied on his report.
